Routes: The Midlands, the Peak District, Lincolnshire

Peak District

The Peak District offers some amazing cycling, including the High Peak, Monsal and Tissington Trails, old railway lines converted into cycle superhighways.

Buxton

We normally start rides from Buxton which is easily accessible from Manchester by train.

Riding to the south, you’ll take in the highlights of the White Peak, an eroded limestone landscape that is certainly one of the most scenic in Britain. Best done when the daffodils are out in mid April, there are longer and shorter options. Cafe stop at Tissington and/or Hulme End.

Heading north from Buxton you’ll ride down Winnats Pass, formerly a an underwater canyon through a coral reef. Lunch stop at Hartsop Station cafe on these routes.

Nottingham

From Nottingham we’d recommend this ride out through the stunning Vale of Belvoir, taking in the rolling wooded hills of the Nottinghamshire Wolds, and with lunch at the famous Cafe Velo Verde.
